Survey Analysis
From doing this survey i have found it very useful as the results i got back, show me what the of people would enjoy within my magazine and what they wouldn't enjoy. From this survey i am shown that a lot of people would like to see things such as, interviews, a main image for the cover and pictures within the magazine.
Photographer
I have chosen Nan Goldin as my photographer, as I really like how the style of photo she takes isn't something that you would usually see. For a magazine it would be very unique as usually within a magazines main image, the shot is perfectly clear and they don't often have altered colours. Whereas Goldin uses a more vintage/retro type of style to the listening and colours of her photographs. I feel this would well for me because this is the type of style I am hoping to aim for. As I am creating a rock magazine I think the whole dingy looking image will work really well along side old rock bands which will be featured within my magazine. Goldin takes a variety of shots from close ups to whole length shots, this is useful to me as I can see from her work how I would like my shots to turn out.
Graphic Designer
David carson is an American graphic designer, art director and surfer. He is best known for this innovative magazine design, and use of experimental typography.
I would potentially use this sort of design for my magazine as its different to my other magazines, this gives it unique feel and would draw readers attention in more. Davids work can be described as a very messy and a chaotic kind of design, he uses words and textures to form various different backgrounds. I think this would work well with my magazine ideas as i wanted the page layout to have an interesting feel to it but also for it to draw in readers attention. Davids work gives off quite a bold statement, as the types of fonts he's using are dramatic and stand out significantly.

25 Word Pitch
I have decided on creating a rock magazine which will be called Riot. The main audience for this magazine will be people ranged from the ages of 16 and upwards. For my magazine to attract people it needs to stand out amongst other magazines, to do this i will be using a vintage-stlyed colour scheme, which will hopefully intrigued the reader. Furthermore to grab the readers attention i will be using a different selection of rock bands, this will then give the magazine more variety. I would like my magazine to be affordable for my readers therefore it will cost £2.50

My Magazine Title
For the title of my own rock styled music magazine, I have chosen ‘Riot’ for my title. This is because riot means to cause a disturbance or even to exhibit something. I personally think this would work well for a rock magazine as within rock many bands music are usually stereotyped to cause a disturbance. However, the word riot can also mean exhibit, this can show that rock music exhibits a variety of different techniques used to distort the movement of the sound of music to give it a unique feel. This could show that the bands featured within my magazine will be a variety of different rock genres, this could attract people as they may feel intrigued to find out how many different sub genres of rock there are.
My Magazine Style
For my magazine I have decided that I will be creating a magazine with a rock genre to it. I am creating a rock magazine as the majority of music I myself enjoy listening to in categorised under rock. From researching different magazines I found it much easier to get a rough idea of how I would like my final magazine to turn out. The main audience I will be focusing on is teenagers and adults, this is because they are the people who I think would be most interested in this type of magazine. I will use retro/vintage types of colours as I feel these would work well within a rock magazine. For the name of the magazine I am aiming to decide on something snappy and memorable.
